Huawei launches Q7 Power Wired Edition mesh router with Wi-Fi 7+

Huawei launched the Huawei Q7 Power Wired Edition mesh router on June 1, 2026, introducing a hybrid system that pairs Wi-Fi 7+ technology with powerline communication to distribute high-speed internet through existing home electrical wiring.

By employing the home's electrical grid as a backhaul, the system bypasses the need for traditional ethernet cabling in multi-room deployments. The setup requires a user to connect the primary router to their modem, then plug secondary child nodes directly into wall sockets to establish an automated mesh network. According to Huawei, the Huawei Q7 Power Wired Edition supports up to 15 sub-routers connected to a single parent node, offering significant spatial adaptability for large homes. Huawei describes the device as providing "no wiring required, full coverage, true speed, and ultra-stable" performance.

Next-Generation PLC and Wireless Integration

Inside the Huawei Q7 Power Wired Edition is a third-generation powerline communication (PLC) chip that achieves transmission speeds of up to 1.5Gbps, doubling the theoretical performance of the company's older Q6 router model. The system utilizes dual-link hybrid networking, allowing the PLC backhaul and wireless mesh links to operate concurrently for parallel transmission. Huawei claims this intelligent chip-level scheduling pushes real-world speeds to the gigabit bandwidth limit, even when routing signals through up to three walls.

For wireless clients, the router utilizes dual-band concurrency, enabling compatible mobile devices to connect to both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands simultaneously. Huawei has also integrated its NearLink wireless protocol alongside a Bluetooth dual-mode gateway. The NearLink technology creates a dedicated VIP channel for gaming traffic, which the manufacturer states reduces overall latency by up to 50 percent.

Thermal Management and Noise Mitigation

To mitigate performance drops caused by overheating, the router is equipped with an internal cooling fan. It also incorporates AI Anti-Interference 2.0, utilizing a built-in AI neural network processing unit to shift the chip transmission rate from 87.5 MHz to 200 MHz. This wider data channel allows the routing algorithms to avoid environmental noise and retain signal integrity.

The Huawei Q7 Power Wired Edition is scheduled to go on pre-order in China on June 15, 2026, with general sales starting on June 24, 2026. Pricing starts at 549 yuan (approximately $76 USD) for a standalone child router, 1,219 yuan (approximately $168 USD) for the standard main-and-child router set, and 1,549 yuan (approximately $214 USD) for the dual-main router bundle.
